The History of Jimmy the Greek Kitchen

Jimmy the Greek Kitchen first opened its doors in 1974 when three guys named Jimmy got together and decided to offer the community of Winston Salem a taste of their homeland Greece, along with other home made Southern style recipes. The first location was built on the corner of Deacon Blvd and Coliseum Dr., where Jimmy the Greek Kitchen began providing its customers with great food at reasonable prices along with exceptionally fast service in a family friendly atmoshpere. In 1988, with the expansion of nearby Wake Forest University, Jimmy the Greek Kitchen moved across the street to College Plaza and has been serving Students, Faculty and Staff of WFU along with the revered members of the Winston Salem community  since then.

Shortly after, in 1992, new owner Steve Hondos took over the College Plaza location and in 2005, he expanded the restaurant, opening a second location in nearby Advance, NC off of Highway 158. Many years later, Steve maintains the high quality taste of Jimmy's delicious homemade food specialties that still make for an unforgettable dining experience, bringing back loyal customers year after year. Come visit one of our Jimmy the Greek Kitchen locations today and see for yourself what all the hype is about!!!
